Preservation of Trees or Vegetation - Private Land

Camden Council, like the majority of Councils in NSW, has tree preservation controls to preserve the amenity of the area including biodiversity values, through the preservation of trees and other vegetation. As such development consent must be obtained prior to the removal of trees and vegetation.

Camden Council places considerable emphasis on the role of trees in maintaining the character of its areas with many historic linkages between native and cultural plantings from early colonial times through to the present.

Follow the links to the relevant sections pertaining to Tree Preservation controls in the Camden Local Environment Plan 2010, Camden Development Control Plan 2011 and for a copy of the Tree Removal/ Pruning Development Application Form.

For more information on Tree removal/pruning proposals or advice please contact Council’s Vegetation Management Officer on 4654 7777.
