Illegal Dumping

Illegal waste dumping is the unlawful deposit of waste onto land and is a highly visible problem in the Camden LGA. This can cause harm to the environment and human health and is a burden for the entire community and Council.

If you wish to report an illegal dumping incident, please use one of the following contact methods:

  • Camden Council 4654 7777
  • ‘Report an Issue’ on Camden Council's homepage
  • RID online
  • Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) on 131 555 during business hours

Illegal landfilling may also be a form of illegal dumping. Some fill may be contaminated, which can harm your family’s health, permanently devalue your property and leave you with substantial clean-up costs. You may also face on-the-spot fines or prosecution for illegally using waste as landfill. Even certified fill may require Development Approval.

By following the simple steps below you will minimise the risks and avoid the dangers of accepting fill on your property.
