Young People
Young people aged 12 to 24 years make up 16.5% of the total Camden population of 119,325 people (Census, 2021). This population is estimated to grow significantly over the next 30 years as a result of the extensive new developments planned for the Camden Local Government Area with the South-Western Sydney Growth Centre. To accommodate this growth, Camden Council has developed a Youth Strategy to support our local young people. The strategy, informed by local young people, guides Council’s support of our youth; to celebrate with them, to ensure they are mentally, physically, and socially connected; and to foster a strong sense of belonging to Camden.
