This year’s TASTE Camden celebrity chef is no longer a mystery – Masterchef 2010 winner, Adam Liaw, has been revealed as the headline star!

The chef, writer and television presenter is ready to cook up a storm on Sunday 27 September, 6pm, to air on Council’s Facebook page. Liaw has written five cookbooks and will present three special dishes, including Fish Sauce Roast Chicken, Carrot Som Tam and Almond Pudding, to the Camden community.

Liaw said he was looking forward to sharing his cooking prowess with Camden.

“During this pandemic food has become more important than ever, so it's great to see TASTE Camden able to continue as a digital festival this year,” Liaw said.

“The food that is on our tables every night is at the core of what makes our community. I'm excited to share my easy family menu with you, and I hope you can cook along too."

Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said residents had a fantastic chance to learn from one of the best chefs in the country.

“TASTE Camden has always attracted some of the great chefs in Australian history and this year will not disappoint, with Adam Liaw ready to show off his cooking skills live on Facebook,” Cr Fedeli said.

“While this event usually sees thousands of attendees down at Camden Town Farm, we’re doing things a little different this year. This is the first time TASTE Camden has even gone digital but it’s important we make sure we’re staying safe. And what better way to learn than to watch Adam whip up a tantalising meal from your own kitchen!

“I encourage everyone to follow Camden Council on social media and check out Adam’s cooking display.”

TASTE Camden will run from 25-27 September on Council’s Facebook page and, in addition to Adam Liaw’s cooking demonstration, will include:

• Listen while you wine and dine – grab a glass of wine and grazing platter and sit back and enjoy live music by local group Like Angels from the comfort of your own home, on Friday 25 September; and
• Kids Cooking Class with The Chef and I Catering – Camden's own Chef and I Catering and their kids will show you how to make Nutella crepes and fruit ice blocks on Saturday 26 September.
