Development
Council regulates development under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2021. This includes the control of building, subdivision and demolition works. This is managed through the development assessment process where you apply to Council for consent to develop land.
The process generally begins by lodging a development application (DA) with Council. Once your DA has been approved the development will typically require certification prior to commencing construction or subdividing land. The webpages below describe the development assessment process and provide you with the resources you need to submit applications to Council.
