Children and Families
The Camden Local Government Area (LGA) has one of the highest proportions of children in NSW with 24,944 children aged between 0 and 11 years, representing 20.8% of the total Camden Local Government Area population (ABS, 2021).
Camden Council is committed to investing in children and families. We develop projects aimed at assisting children aged 0 -12 years and their parents/carers. We provide information about local children and family services available to families, through the Camden Kids website and eNewsletter. We provide and promote a range of child and family friendly activities happening across the area.
In November 2023, Camden Council adopted the Camden Children and Families Strategy 2023-2027, which outlines its strategic framework to improve the childhood experience of every child living in the Camden Local Government Area. The strategy states a clear goal for Camden, that the Camden Local Government Area is a place where all children receive a safe, healthy and happy start in life, are actively connected and have a voice in their community.
