Local businesses may be eligible for a rebate up to $50,000 to help buy recycling equipment and cut waste, as part of the NSW Environment Protection Authority’s Bin Trim program.

The program provides free advice and support to businesses with up to 400 staff to help them identify and implement ways of reducing waste and potential cost savings.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said booking a Bin Trim waste assessment could lead to a great saving and possible rebate.

“Local businesses have battled through a difficult year and this program could offer even more savings while also minimising the amount of waste being sent to landfill,” Cr Fedeli said.

“Roughly 70 per cent of business garbage can be reused or recycled including cardboard, paper and plastic through to food waste.

“The Bin Trim program is positive for so many reasons including helping to attract more customers by showing an environmental awareness, increase staff morale, gain recognition for actions taken, and reduce impact on the environment.”
