Build your own robot at LEGO Robotic sessions

Local young people have the chance to build their own robot and program it to complete tasks at Narellan Library’s LEGO Robotics Mindstorm sessions.

The free LEGO Mindstorm session, which runs weekly on Mondays from 4-5pm, is a fun way for children aged 11 to 15 years to develop their enthusiasm for STEM skills, by computer coding and creating projects using LEGO’s Mindstorm robots.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said the sessions gave local young people the ability to both learn and have fun.

“Camden Libraries are continually looking for new activities to offer local children and our LEGO Mindstorm sessions have already become quite popular,” Cr Fedeli said.

“Kids learn best when education is made interactive and when you add creativity to it, it ultimately becomes a lot of fun.

“The program will show kids how to take playtime to the next level with programmable toys with different functions.

“I encourage local parents and children to get involved with the sessions at Narellan Library.”

Camden Libraries host a range of programs and activities for all ages each week at Camden, Narellan and Oran Park Libraries.

Bookings for the LEGO Robotics Mindstorm sessions are essential. For more information on programs and activities at Camden Libraries, go to www.library.camden.nsw.gov.au
