Bushcare program returning in 2021

Residents interested in Bushcare will soon be able to help regenerate the natural habitat around Camden with Council offering two training sessions for volunteers next month to ‘Get Bushcare Ready’.
Council’s Bushcare Program is set to return in February next year, so Council is making sure interested volunteers are ready to pick up the tools from day one by running interactive sessions for all existing and new volunteers.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli said it was important for volunteers to complete Code of Conduct training and complete the required volunteering paperwork prior to the re-commencement of the program.
“Camden is home to a range of critically endangered ecological communities and through this program we can all do our bit to help conserve our beautiful surroundings,” Cr Fedeli said.
“While our Bushcare program had to be put on hold due to the pandemic earlier this year, we are looking forward to having volunteers back out and about in the safest possible way.
“I’d also like to encourage new people interested in becoming volunteers to attend the training sessions. The team has put together a great session including interactive reptile awareness training to be provided so our volunteers know what to do when they encounter a snake in our bushland reserves.”
The two sessions will be held at Camden Civic Centre on Tuesday 1 December, 2020 at 9.30am and 6:30pm and will run for two hours each.
