181022 Camden Council welcomes its new General Manager

Camden Council is pleased to announce the appointment of its new General Manager, Andrew Carfield.

Mr Carfield has over 28 years of experience in local government, having held a number of senior executive roles at Sutherland Shire Council and Wollongong City Council.

Mr Carfield brings a wealth of experience to Camden across a wide range of Council services including urban planning, economic development, infrastructure planning and delivery and strategic financial management. He holds a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning, a Master of Urban Policy and Strategy and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said the appointment comes as Camden farewells its General Manager of almost 10 years, Ron Moore.

“Ron joined Camden Council in March 2013, at a time the organisation and the area was experiencing phenomenal growth and change,” Cr Fedeli said.

“From day one, Ron’s commitment to working in partnership with Councillors, the organisation and the community has been outstanding. It’s been terrific working with him and we wish him, and his family, all the best in retirement.

“I know I speak on behalf of the Councillors when I say we’re looking forward to building a strong working relationship with our new General Manager.

"The Camden area continues to be one of the fastest growing in the country, welcoming more than 100 new residents every week. We’re the beating heart of the Macarthur region and have some truly incredible things to accomplish for our residents – current and future.”

Mr Carfield said he was looking forward to joining Camden Council and working with Councillors, Council staff and the community to continue delivering high quality services.

“This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work with the elected Council, staff and all levels of government to support the growing Camden community, shape the local government area and continue to provide services to a standard the community expects. It is a privilege to join Camden Council and lead the organisation through this critical period”.

Mr Carfield will commence as Camden Council’s General Manager in late November 2022.
