Community Facilities re-opening to public

Camden Council will re-open Camden Civic Centre, Alan Baker Art Gallery, community facilities, Mount Annan Leisure Centre gym and libraries with a number of limitations in place next week.

Camden Libraries will resume some of its services from Monday 11 October, including:

  • Resumption of Home Library Service;
  • Click and Collect Service to commence;
  • Reopening of return shutes;
  • Limited public access to computers;
  • Study space for HSC students at Narellan and Oran Park; and
  • Public able to select and borrow items.

The following measures will be in place from Monday 11 October for Camden Libraries, which will be open from 9.30am-4pm Monday to Friday and 9am-12pm on Saturday:

  • Visitors requested to show COVID-19 digital certificate or vaccination record;
  • Security onsite to check QR sign ins and vaccination status at all library branches;
  • Regular touch point cleaning;
  • Hand sanitiser made available;
  • Social distancing in place;
  • Masks mandatory for staff and patrons over 12 years of age; and
  • One person per 4m2 capacity in place.

Camden Civic Centre will re-open for bookings as of Monday 11 October, with priority given to existing bookings which require rescheduling. Alan Baker Art Gallery will also re-open from Thursday 14 October.

The following safety controls will be in place for the re-opening of both the Civic Centre and Alan Baker Art Gallery:

  • Regular touch point cleaning;
  • Hand sanitiser made available;
  • COVID Check-in through ServiceNSW app;
  • Visitors requested to show COVID-19 digital certificate or vaccination record;
  • Social distancing in place;
  • Masks worn by staff and patrons over 12 years of age;
  • Weddings and funeral services capped at 100 people at Camden Civic Centre;
  • One person per 4m2 capacity in place for all other bookings;
  • Air-conditioning clean and maintenance prior to re-opening;
  • COVID-19 Safety Plan in Place for the venue;
  • Significant events must provide an event specific COVID-19 Safety Plan; and
  • No public program activities or pop-up workshops to be delivered during this state at Alan Baker Art Gallery.

Community facilities will allow restricted access to existing regular church group hirers in alignment with the announced NSW Government roadmap.

The following safety controls will be in place for the re-opening of Community Facilities:

  • Advice provided to all regular hirers directing them to PHO advice;
  • Regular touch point cleaning;
  • Hand sanitiser made available;
  • COVID Check-in and vaccination checks through the ServiceNSW app;
  • Social distancing in place;
  • Masks mandatory for staff and patrons over 12 years of age;
  • One person per 4m2 capacity in place;
  • All users to be fully vaccinated; and
  • Air-conditioning clean and maintenance prior to re-opening.

Residents will also be able to return to the gym at Mount Annan Leisure Centre as of Monday 11 October, with the following conditions in place:

  • Limited classes;
  • Limited creche operations;
  • Restrictions on number of users to 4m2 per person;
  • Touch point cleaning sanitisation available;
  • COVID Check-in through ServiceNSW app; and
  • Visitors requested to show COVID-19 digital certificate or vaccination record.

At this time, the indoor pools, spa, steam room, sauna and aquatic programs will remain closed. Council is working with the Y on an opening date for these facilities and will provide further updates shortly.
