The local environment will take centre stage in Camden Town Centre this month with the latest Camden Kerbside Exhibition – Connecting with Nature.

Connecting with Nature is a curated street exhibition featuring winning and highly commended works from the 2021 Macarthur Nature Photography and 2021 and 2022 Threatened Species Art and Writing Competitions.

The works will be display on guard rails, planter boxes, bus shelters and bins along Argyle, Mitchell and Murray Streets.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said the exhibition was the perfect way to enliven public spaces to re-emerge, celebrate and engage with the community through art.

“Camden is home to many talented artists and the Camden Kerbside Exhibition gives them all a platform to show their beautiful works,” Cr Fedeli said.

“There were so many fantastic artworks and images that were submitted into both the Macarthur Nature Photography and Threatened Species Arts and Writing Competitions and I am glad that that a selection will provide a colourful streetscape for both locals and visitors as they venture through Camden Town Centre.

“I encourage the community to stop and take in the exhibition and even take some photos and post them on social media using the hashtag #kerbsidecamden.”

The Camden Kerbside Exhibition program was created to give people opportunities to return to public spaces and enliven the public streetscape.
