Local food premises can receive support with a free COVID-19 awareness for food service online training course.
The NSW Food Authority has partnered with NSW Health to provide the free training to assist businesses in providing a COVID safe environment as restrictions continue to be eased across the state.
The training has been developed for anyone working in NSW food retail and food service businesses and covers key measures recommended for COVID-19 control, including:
- COVID-19 Introduction and background;
- Infection, signs and symptoms;
- Self-protective measures;
- Protective measures for premises and personal hygiene;
- Cleaning and sanitation practices;
- Social distancing measures; and
- Record keeping.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli said it was important for businesses to be aware of their requirements and have their own COVID-19 safety plan.
“As we slowly get back to our normal lives, it is very important to take care of the health, safety and well-being of our residents,” Cr Fedeli said.
“This training will allow food premise owners to prepare, share and work through their safety plan with their employees.
“I encourage food premises to take advantage of the free online training and be as safe as possible when at work.”
The course will take participants approximately 20 minutes to complete and participants will receive an acknowledgement certificate.
