Council has accepted $180,000 in funding to support three local programs to assist the Camden community.
The funding and grants will assist Council in setting up programs, including:
- $120,000 in funding from the Department of Planning and Environment to assist with precinct planning for the South West Growth Area;
- $50,000 under the NSW Government’s Greener Neighbourhoods Grant program to develop the Camden Urban Forest Strategy 2023-33; and,
- $10,000 under the NSW Weeds Action Program 2020-25 to control Kidney Leaf Mud Plantain in Ellis Lane.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli said the grants would go a long way in assisting Council and the community.
“Council is committed to servicing the Camden community and looking for opportunities in grants to complete work in our area,” Cr Fedeli said.
“As Camden continues to grow it is important that Council works towards assisting the community with both new facilities while maintaining the facilities and environment we live in.
“I thank the NSW Government for the three grants and look forward to seeing all three programs.”
