Camden Town Centre is set to come alive this month, with #camdenlive to feature the area’s first officially registered buskers in re-engaging our community.
Council secured more than $9,000 in funding from the NSW Government’s Summer Fund – Festival of Place program, to activate places and engaged local creatives.
Residents and visitors to Camden will be able to engage with live performances, art demonstrations and curated displays of digital art from Thursday 18 March until Sunday 28 March and reconnect with business and eateries in the Camden Town Centre.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said #camdenlive was a great way to invite people back into the area.
“Camden residents have done well following COVID safe protocols throughout the pandemic,” Cr Fedeli said.
“Being able to provide COVID safe free entertainment in local centres is a great initiative to get our residents and visitors back out and about. This will not only help some local performers but importantly benefit local businesses and also assist in making visitors feel welcome in the area.
“And of course Camden Town Centre is the perfect place for this event. Residents will be able to make use of the recently announced Dine and Discover NSW Voucher Scheme in one of the fantastic restaurants or cafes in the Town Centre.
“The program will be unveiled shortly, and I encourage residents to get out and about and don’t forget to use the hashtag #camdenlive to share their experiences on social media.”
