Get reading in the lead up to Christmas
Posted 3 years ago
Families, assemble! It is time to get reading again with Paint the Town REaD!
As part of the Camden Paint the Town REaD initiative which promotes literacy skills from birth to early childhood, a Christmas Book List has been created to encourage reading through December.
Local young children and their parents are being encouraged to visit the Camden Libraries website to view the list and decide which books they would like to read together.
“Reading to children from a young age has several benefits including getting children ready for their school years,” a Council spokesperson said.
“While we spent countless days at home this year, many families turned to books to read together and it is important to continue this in the years to come through the Camden Paint the Town REaD initiative.
“This is a great way to also get into the Christmas spirit, by reading to your family about the true meaning of Christmas.”
The Christmas book list will be set up in a countdown to Christmas Day.
