Camden Council is embarking on a community engagement process to review and update the Community Strategic Plan 2036 that will focus on identifying the needs of local residents, businesses, community service providers, and government agencies.
Council is asking the community for feedback on how it can continue to balance future growth while preserving its rich history, culture and identity.
From now until 3 December 2024, residents, youth, business sector and government and non-government agencies can get involved in one of the many ways below:
- Complete the survey online by visiting yourvoice.camden.nsw.gov.au
- Chat to Council staff in person at:
Wednesday 20 November (8.30am - 1pm) at Narellan Town Centre
Saturday 23 November (4pm - 9pm) at Camden Christmas Festival
Wednesday 27 November (10am - 12pm) at Oran Park Podium Shopping Centre
Wednesday 27 November (3.30pm - 5.30pm) at Julia Reserve
Saturday 30 November (10am - 2pm) at Community Connection Day 2024
Tuesday 3 December (10am - 12pm) at the Camden Stakeholder Forum at Council Chambers.
There are also incentives, as 50 lucky participants will receive a $50 gift voucher by submitting a completed survey and postcards, attending the Camden Stakeholder Forum and youth submitting their design – Camden today and in the future.
Feedback gathered for the Community Strategic Plan (CSP) will ensure Council’s infrastructure and services meet the evolving needs of our residents.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney said, “We’re committed to providing our citizens with an environmentally friendly, enjoyable, and strong community. The CSP helps us manage growth and change, while balancing the needs of our current and future generations.
“We would love to hear what you like most about our community and where you’d like to see improvements. Your feedback during this engagement period will ensure that your voice is captured in the vision for Camden’s future,” Mayor Cagney said.
The CSP outlines the community’s priorities and aspirations, guiding decisions around key areas such as planning, construction, community services, infrastructure, heritage and rural landscapes, sustainability, public transport and environment.
