Kerbside collection service resumes
Posted 5 years ago
Residents can now book kerbside collections again with Council resuming the service this week.
The service was temporarily suspended in March this year as Council assessed the potential impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the risk of the virus spreading throughout the community.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said vigorous assessments were undertaken before making the decision to resume the service.
“The health and safety of our community and staff is of high importance to Council and we would not have resumed our kerbside collection had extensive risk assessments not been completed first,” Cr Fedeli said.
“Council has contacted residents who had their bookings postponed prior to the cancellation of the service to give them priority to re-book their collections.
“Councils across the state have already reported an increase on all waste collection during the COVID-19 pandemic so we ask for your patience as we endeavour to confirm a booking date and time with residents.
Council requests residents answering “Yes” to any of the following questions to wait 14 days before making a booking.
Have you or an immediate family member:
- Returned from overseas within the past 14 days;
- Been in close contact with anyone who has returned to Australia in the last 14 days;
- Been confirmed as having Coronavirus and are required to self-isolate; or
- Experiencing symptoms related to Coronavirus.
