Learn to use latest technology with Tech Savvy Seniors
Posted 4 years ago
Senior residents can learn how to use the latest technology from the comfort of their own homes with Camden Libraries’ trial Tech Savvy Seniors online program.
Camden Libraries recently promoted the Tech Savvy Seniors YouTube channel, showcasing videos introducing seniors to smartphones, zoom video calls and much more in a variety of languages.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said it was important for local seniors to be aware of technology.
“Computers, tablets and smart phones have helped make day to day errands, such as paying a bill or doing your banking so much easier,” Cr Fedeli said.
“Technology has been even more important during the COVID-19 pandemic, with many families staying in touch with each other via video calls.
“For those who just beginning to access online resources, Camden Libraries also provides over the phone assistance. This is about helping our seniors as much as possible and our team is here to assist.”
Contact your Community Learning Librarian if you are keen to find out more about how to access this style of learning on your own internet connected device from home.
Tech Savvy Seniors in NSW is funded by the NSW Government (through the Department of Family and Community Services) and Telstra and supported by State Library of NSW.
