Commuters will now have more parking spaces, after works to construct a temporary car park at Leppington Train Station were recently completed.
The temporary car park, which was delivered by Camden Council on behalf of Transport for NSW, provides approximately 250 spaces and is located opposite the station on Rickard Road.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said the temporary car park was pivotal to the delivery of the station’s new multi-storey car park.
“The temporary car park is a fantastic step towards further increasing the amount of car spaces for commuters at Leppington Station,” Cr Fedeli said.
“A number of spaces in the current car park are unavailable during the construction of the NSW Government’s 1,000 space multi-storey car park which is due to begin shortly, so the temporary car park is definitely well-timed.
“It has been fantastic to work with the state government and local community to achieve the best outcomes for residents through this project.
“I look forward to seeing the completion of the multi-storey car park next year as Leppington and the Camden area generally continues to grow.”
Once completed, Leppington Station’s multi-storey car park will feature an additional 1,000 parking spaces, free parking for up to 18 hours, additional accessible parking spaces in the station, precinct lift access, road pavement and pedestrian pathway upgrades CCTV, lighting and wayfinding for improved safety and security.
