Recycling has just become easier with Council partnering with RecycleSmart to offer a ‘Recyclopedia’ and an uber-style recycling collection service for residents.

RecycleSmart offers residents the chance to recycle their tough-to-recycle items by following these simple following steps:

  • Download the RecycleSmart app;
  • Pack your bag; and
  • Book your Power Pickup.

RecycleSmart Chief Executive Officer, Giorgio Baracchi, said using the initiative will make residents look forward to recycling.

“We're here to change the way people feel about recycling so they recycle more things, more often,” Mr Baracchi said.

“We achieve that by making recycling digital, fun and easy. We're so lucky to be able to work with local councils and to be able to offer our on-demand recycling service to their residents. It is truly the best way to make recycling easy.”

Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said the collaboration added to Council’s extensive work in diverting waste away from landfill.

“Recycling in the correct way is important to help our environment and Council is committed to continuing to help wherever we can,” Cr Fedeli said.

“We currently offer our community a weekly three-bin waste collection service and host a number of other events including quarterly Recycling Drop Off events and offering recycling stations at our libraries and administration building. Having RecycleSmart available to our residents is our next step.

“Simply download the RecycleSmart app to start diverting your tough-to-recycle items away from landfill.”

Camden residents can sign up to RecycleSmart to receive a free Recycling Starter Kit and book a Power Pickup for free using the code FIRSTFREE at recyclesmart.com
