Camden Libraries have a range of wonderful resources to assist our young learners in transitioning back to school, both after holidays and learning from home for the majority of 2021.

The Getting Ready for School Booklet has been developed by the NSW Department of Education and Communities, full of advice and tips that will assist in the transition period from preschool to Kindergarten. The series of PDF’s include the topics of Setting the Scene, Getting Ready, Settling in and Looking Forward.

Camden Libraries also have a wide variety of resources that assist with literacy and reading development for children. These include a book club, reading program and other developmental programs and resources, created by professionals. The website has a range of engaging e-resources to support children’s education, such as a StoryBox Library, World Book Encyclopaedia, National Geographic Kids, and Studiosity which enables your child to receive feedback and study help from an online tutor.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli said the online resources available on Camden Libraries webpage provide a wonderful opportunity for local children, youth and adults to learn more, gain access to useful websites and e-resources and get involved in many modern ways of learning and developing skills.

“The e-resources available are like no other and parents should take advantage of the information as it can assist their children in many ways,” Cr Fedeli said.

“We know that schooling has been difficult over the past two years, due to many COVID interruptions, however we are finally getting back on track and it is important now more than ever that we look after our children and help them feel supported through the transition back into the classroom.

“The Libraries website has a range of interactive activities and videos, which can help your child develop different skills and feel a sense of connection when going back to school full time.

“It has been a rocky ride and I know it has been difficult for parents as well. I look forward to seeing and hearing about how our young residents settle back into the classroom, for a hopefully much smoother and more calm year.”
