Share the Spirit of Christmas Through the Mayor’s Giving Tree

Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, is calling on the community to spread some festive cheer by supporting local families in need through the Mayor’s Christmas Giving Tree Appeal, by donating food.
Each year, Camden Council’s Mayor runs the donation drive in support of a local charity. For 2024, Mayor Cagney has selected Big Yellow Umbrella.
Big Yellow Umbrella provides services, programs and activities to meet the needs of the community, including a children’s services program, youth services, parenting programs, and more.
Mayor Cagney encouraged locals to support Big Yellow Umbrella in its efforts to help those who need it most during this holiday season.
“It’s time to make a family’s wish come true at the most important time of the year for the community,” she said.
“The Christmas season is all about spreading love and happiness and there’s no better way to do that than to share with people in the community who need it the most.
“Your contribution will help a family put on a well-deserved Christmas lunch or dinner.”
Food can be submitted up until Monday 9 December 2024. Donations that will be accepted include anything non-perishable like rice, cans of soup, and pasta.
Food donations can be dropped off at any of three Camden Library locations:
- Camden Library: 40 John St, Camden
- Oran Park Library: 72 Central Av, Oran Park
- Narellan Library: Corner of Queen and Elyard St, Narellan.
