Camden’s first synthetic football field is a step closer to reality after Council accepted a tender for the construction of the facility this week.
Greenplay Australia Pty Ltd will transform Nott Oval in Narellan into a FIFA accredited synthetic football facility with works expected to be completed late this year.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said she looked forward to seeing the synthetic football field become the latest state-of-the-art sporting facility in the area.
“Council is committed to providing residents with the highest quality sporting facilities and this is another project that will be used by a range of football clubs and the wider community,” Cr Fedeli said.
“The Macarthur area is home to over 10,000 local football players and transforming Nott Oval from a turf to synthetic field will allow our players the chance to practice and refine their skills all year round.
“Council is also considering different ways to help the local economy during a tough period with one of them being ensuring we continue our large capital works program.
“I would like to thank both the Federal and State governments for their funding of $2.8 million to go towards this facility as part of the Western Parkland Liveability Fund.”
