Take a break and participate in birdwatching
Posted 4 years ago
Residents can become one with nature and take up birdwatching to celebrate National Bird Week, starting from today.
National Bird Week 2020 is aimed at inspiring Australians to take action and get involved in bird conservation efforts.
Camden Council Library Services are offering residents an Information to Birdwatching kit, to help celebrate National Bird Week. The kit includes:
- A list of items to help with birdwatching;
- Aussie Backyard Bird Count information;
- Aussie Backyard Bird Count counting sheets;
- Information on online resources;
- Aussie Backyard Bird Count colouring page;
- Jigsaw puzzle; and
- How to make your very own birdfeeder for your backyard.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, encouraged residents to get involved and enjoy Camden’s natural surroundings.
“Camden has so many beautiful natural habitats which include wildlife that many of us are unaware of,” Cr Fedeli said.
“While you can always birdwatch in your own backyard, I think it would be fantastic for residents to get out and about enjoy it in our local great outdoors.
“This is a great chance for all of us to take a step away from technology for a couple of hours, look at the sky and see the beauty it truly has.”
The kits are available at Narellan Library throughout this week.
