Thank you for lending a helping hand

It’s time to say a big thank you to those who lend a helping hand in the community, with National Volunteer Week coming up next month.
The week-long event is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering, scheduled to run this year from Monday 15 to Sunday 21 May. It recognises the vital support that the millions of volunteers in our country provide to their communities and encourages people to consider volunteering themselves.
As part of National Volunteer Week celebrations, Council will be sharing a series of interviews with current volunteers, thank you messages from supervisors and photos from volunteer-led programs on its social media platforms.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said the theme for this year’s National Volunteer Week was ‘The Change Makers’.
“It’s so important we take this moment and really appreciate the power and determination our volunteers have to drive change and support those in our community that need it most,” Cr Fedeli said.
“We have many fantastic people who give up countless hours to not only help others in the community, but also assist in maintaining and preserving our beautiful environment.
“As the Camden community continues to grow, so do opportunities to give back and help your neighbour. Council aims to support all our volunteers in a way to improve the lives of so many in our community.”
