Mayor's Christmas Giving Tree Appeal
Each year the Mayor of Camden holds a Christmas Giving Tree Appeal asking residents to donate goods and toys to those in need in the Camden community.
The chosen charity for 2024 is Big Yellow Umbrella.
BIG YELLOW UMBRELLA
Big Yellow Umbrella was founded in 1987 to provide community services and facilities for the growing population in the Macarthur region where there were no existing services, BYU has responded to the changing needs of the community as it has increased in size and diversity.
Today, Big Yellow Umbrella provides services, programs and activities to meet the needs of all sectors of the local community. Our services include a Children’s Services program, Youth Services, and Community Development, including promoting and supporting a number of community groups since their inception.
For the past 8 years, BYU has held a toy and food appeal to help those in the community doing it tough. The community are asked to donate toys to the value of $20 from zero to adults or non-perishable food items to be placed in hampers.
The food donations will be distributed through the Yellow Hampers security program.
