Get artistic with returned Gallery program
Posted 4 years ago
Improving your artistic skills has never been easier with Alan Baker Art Gallery’s public program returning this month.
The program offers residents the chance to dip their toes into art with workshops for all ages and experience levels, including:
- Art After School – a 10-week program of art lessons for primary and secondary aged students;
- Drawing Skills – a foundational course run by local artists and art teachers will teach residents the drawing skills required to improve all areas of your artistic practice;
- Watercolour Fridays – experienced local artist, Rizwana Ahmad, runs this 10-week art program for all levels of experience; and
- Life Drawing (18+ only) – residents are invited to be guided by professional artists and art teachers and take the opportunity to capture the bare human figure in the beautiful setting of Alan Baker Art Gallery.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said it was fantastic to have the program back up and running after a brief hiatus.
“Art is a great way to get your mind away from the rigours of daily life and express yourself creatively,” Cr Fedeli said.
“We are extremely lucky to have such a fantastic Gallery in the heart of our area and the classes are seen creative workshops for participants which draw on the knowledge and experience of local artists making it a great experience.
“There truly is something for everyone as well as an opportunity for participants to meet friends, learn new skills and engage with Camden’s art community.”
Limited spaces are available in each session to maintain social distancing and other COVID-19 protocols.
