International Women's Day

International Women's Day is celebrated on 8 March each year to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of women and to bring attention to the issues that still face women today.

Each year Camden Council hosts an event or activity to mark International Women's Day. 

The 2025 theme is “Accelerate Action.”

To celebrate, Council are running a series of programs to celebrate women and invest in health and wellbeing.

Movie Month 

Description: Camden Council’s International Women’s Day annual movie program will now run from 8 March to 31 March 2025. During this time period, Camden residents can purchase a subsidised movie ticket to see Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, Hard Truths OR Snow White (This will be available from March 20th). $15 for Grand Recliner Seats, $10 for regular seats. Free popcorn and drink per person.

Free Fitness Classes: 

Description:Camden women are invited to participate in free fitness classes to promote health, wellbeing and relaxation. Register for one or all of the sessions across both our leisure centres.

Free Women’s Self Defence Classes 

Description:Camden women aged 18 and over are invited to participate in a free introduction to self-defence class at The PIT Martial Arts, Health & Fitness Centre. The class will cover a range of basic tools to empower participants and apply learned skills in a safe and controlled environment. Develop your tools and street smarts to help control your world with more confidence.
