Creative Collab is a quarterly forum connecting emerging and established arts and creative professionals from the Macarthur region. The events regularly host guest artist speakers, discussions, presentations and the latest news from the arts and cultural sector in NSW to support and sustain a vibrant local creative industry and network, inclusive of visual arts, decorative arts, performing arts, music and design.

The events are free to the public and aim to encourage professional and networking development for artists from the Macarthur Region.

Creative Collab, October | Creative Wellbeing Workshop

With: Creative Plus Business. Using your creativity for professional work is both rewarding and taxing. While making money from our passion is a privilege, burnout is a reality, and creative practice can be difficult to maintain over the long term. How can creatives maintain relative balance between flourishing and falling, while safeguarding our inspiration? Creative Wellbeing is a unique workshop that discusses the rarely-discussed importance of understanding, respecting and protecting our most important professional assets as artists – our ability to create, innovate and imagine.

Participants will learn all the following, with a focus on arts practice and creative industries:

• The definition of wellbeing and how it manifests in physical, mental, and emotional ways.
• Defining ‘Creative Wellbeing’ as another aspect of self-care and understanding.
• Some of the aspects of ‘Creative Illness’, including imposterism and self-sabotage.
•  Understanding Burnout and the significant ways it impacts of creative professionals.
• Practical ways to respect and safeguard creative wellbeing in daily professional life.
