Upgrade of Byron Road, Leppington

Byron Road upgrade is complete!

The upgraded Byron Road now functions as an access road to the future Leppington Town Centre Precinct and serves as an important link between Leppington, Camden Valley Way, Liverpool and Campbelltown.

This road will become increasingly important as traffic volumes and the population continues to increase.  

The upgrade works consisted of:

  • Upgrading Byron Road between Ingleburn Road and Heath Road from a rural standard to an urban standard two-lane road;
  • On-road parking lane on both sides;
  • Construction of pedestrian and cycle path network;
  • Streetscaping; 
  • Upgrading stormwater drainage;
  • Relocation and adjustment of utilities; and 
  • Review of Enivronmental factors.

The project also delivered works associated with the upgrade of Heath Road and Scalabrini Creek East (Drainage and Open Space) project. These works consisted of:

  • Upgrading 200 metres of Heath Road pavement, kerb and gutter and drainage line;
  • Installation of box culverts associated with the Scalabrini East project; and 
  • Installation of an electrical substation and electrical works for Leppington Oval.

Budget

This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with Camden Council. 

The project budget for the upgrade of Byron Road is $11,941,958.
