Project Update

August 2024

Camden Council wishes to advise that works are set to commence as part of the Camden Civic Centre Renewal and Upgrade project following the appointment of specialist contractor Trinity Fitout and Construction.

To accommodate the redevelopment works a number of changes around the site will be in place.

Temporary fencing will be installed within the next two weeks and will be in place until early 2025. Works will be undertaken between Monday and Saturday, 7am to 5pm in accordance with the approved development application.

Pedestrian paths along sections of Oxley and Mitchell Streets will be closed. Alternative pedestrian links have been identified and detour signage will be installed.

A temporary modification to the Oxley Street Car Park will also be in place resulting in the reduction of 10 car spaces. This is necessary to accommodate construction work zones.

Contractor parking will utilise Onslow Oval car park to minimise impacts on local parking areas in and around the Civic Centre.

Throughout the project, the Camden Civic Centre project page on Council’s website will be updated to ensure the community is informed and advised of major construction activities and future impacts as they become apparent. Businesses likely to be directly impacted will be contacted ahead of any proposed disruption.
