A celebration of women’s contributions

Athletics two-time World Champion and four-time Commonwealth Champion, Jana Pittman, will be the keynote speaker at Camden Council’s International Women’s Day Gala.
The annual event will return in 2024 for another year to #inspireinclusion while raising funds for Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard.
Pittman, the first woman to represent Australia in both a Summer and Winter Olympic Games, will take attendees on a journey through the peaks and troughs that helped shape her career and build her into who she is today.
The event, taking place at Gledswood Homestead and Winery on Thursday 7 March from 5.30-9pm, will feature:
- A two-course meal and drinks;
- A speech by keynote speaker, Jana Pittman;
- A Mayoral address;
- Presentation of the Camden Woman of the Year Award; and
- Networking opportunities throughout the night.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, said she was looking forward to seeing everyone come together to celebrate International Women’s Day.
“Women play such important and powerful roles in life, both at home and professionally. It’s terrific to be able to have this annual event here in the Camden area to honour and celebrate these women in our community,” she said.
“I’m incredibly proud to be able to work with five female Councillors. In addition to these powerful women, three of our Council’s director’s positions are held by inspiring and strong women as well. I’m privileged that, together, we get to help create a world where difference is valued and celebrated and forge women's equality.
“It will be a fantastic night with ticket proceeds going to Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, so I encourage everyone to get their ticket before they sell out.”
Tickets are $110 per person or $1,000 for a table of 10. Ticket includes a two-course meal, drinks package and gift. For more information, and to book your tickets, visit www.camden.nsw.gov.au/whats-on/annual-signature-events/international-womens-day-gala.
