Camden shows their recycling best
Posted 4 years ago
More than 600 kilograms of recycling items, including 10 cubic metres of polystyrene, have been saved from landfill after another successful Recycling Drop Off event over the weekend.
The quarterly Recycling Drop Off event gives residents the chance to bring their extra recycling materials to Council’s Works Depot for it to be recycled in the best possible way.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said the response highlighted the importance of recycling to the Camden community.
“We all know that we reside in a beautiful area and I am very proud to have seen so many people attend and do the right thing for the environment.
“Council is focused on taking care of the environment and being sustainable, so to have the community on board helps every step of the way.
“This event is particularly helpful for our new residents moving into their homes in our growing area.
“For those who may have missed out our next Recycling Drop Off will be in approximately three months, so I encourage you to gather your extra recycling waste and keep an eye on Council’s website.”
Council also offers residents the chance to recycle throughout the year, including:
- Weekly recycling bin collection;
- Free E-Waste service at the Spring Farm Resource Recovery Park; and
- All-in-one recycling stations accepting household batteries, printer cartridges and mobile phones at three locations across Camden.
Council has also recently partnered with RecycleSmart, an uber-style recycling collection service, to offer residents the chance to recycle their tough-to-recycle items by following these simple steps:
- Download the RecycleSmart app;
- Pack your bag; and
- Book your Power Pickup.
