This October, Camden Council will shine a spotlight on the vital contributions of small businesses to our local community as part of Small Business Month.

Camden Council’s 2024 Small Business Month program provides small business owners and staff the opportunity to enhance their business’ profile, connect with like-minded entrepreneurs and potential customers.

The program also gives local small businesses and their employees the ability to grow their business profile, skillset, network, and future, with a range of initiatives available, all designed to strengthen their business position.

“Small businesses are at the very heart of our growing local economy and as we celebrate Small Business Month, I encourage small businesses and their staff to take advantage of the diverse workshops, events and programs that Council has on offer,” said General Manager of Camden Council, Andrew Carfield.

The following events and initiatives will run throughout October:

Workshop: Business Planning for the future
Understand the fundamentals of business planning with this free workshop.
Tuesday 8 October, 8.30am-11.30am, Oran Park Library, Sandown Room and
Monday 14 October, 5.30pm-8.30pm, Oran Park Library, Lakeside Room

Tour of Western Sydney International Airport
Tour the new Western Sydney International Airport (WSIA) and gain valuable insights into Australia's first smart airport.
Thursday 10 October 2024, 9am-1.30pm, departing from Camden Council Administration Building, 70 Central Avenue, Oran Park

Creative Collab Workshop
This interactive workshop focuses on creative wellbeing and will provide helpful tips on how to protect any artists most important asset – the ability to create, innovate and imagine in the long term.
Thursday 17 October, 6pm-9pm, Spring Farm Community Centre

Business Advisory Session
Receive one-on-one support from your Business Connect advisor to assess your business and provide insights to start, grow, adapt or run your small business.
Wednesday 16 October, various session times between 9.30am-3pm, at Camden Council Administration Building, 70 Central Avenue, Oran Park.

Webinar – How to Create a Finance Plan
A free webinar to introduce businesses to the foundations of building a good financial plan.
Wednesday 23 October, 10am-12.30pm, online.

Networking Event: Destination Camden – Connecting to the Future
Join likeminded professionals at our evening business networking event, featuring a dynamic panel discussion and interactive Q&A session. Gain valuable insights and build connections, explore key trends and opportunities relating to ‘Destination Camden’.
Wednesday 30 October, 5.30pm- 8.30pm, Camden Town Farm. Light refreshments will be provided.

2024 Camden Business Survey
Camden Business Owners, make an impact by sharing your insights to drive growth and attract investment in our community by completing the 2024 Camden Business Survey.
The survey closes on Sunday December 1, 2024.
