Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said the redevelopment was important to the future of the Camden area.
“It is clear that, as the Camden area grows, we must also grow to continue servicing our residents,” Cr Fedeli said.
“Council’s depot redevelopment will ensure we continue to provide high service levels to both existing and newly developed areas across the Camden area.
“It is equally important for Council to continue investing in the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Council will apply for a Department of Planning, Industry and Environment Low-Cost Loan totalling $8.8 million to fund the project, with the remaining $200,000 received from grant funding. This program provides Council with a 50 per cent rebate on the interest payable on the loan, which will result in an interest saving of $367,000.
