The Camden community will greatly benefit after a total of 57 people and groups were awarded more than $150,000, thanks to Camden Council’s latest round of community grants.

The grants were awarded to incorporated associations, not-for-profit groups, sporting groups, businesses and individuals located in or servicing the Camden area.

They included the categories of Community Small Grants, Community Sponsorship, Sport and Recreation Grants, Cultural Activation Seed Grants and Cultural Performance Subsidies.

NSW Transport Minister Jo Haylen said these projects would be transformative for the Camden area.

“These projects will improve the way people walk and cycle around Camden, Mount Annan and Narellan, giving everyone the option to leave the car at home and make the most of the outdoors,” she said.

“I’m pleased the NSW Government has been able to contribute $1.6m to deliver these three important projects.”

Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, said the recipients were extremely deserving.

“The work that these groups and individuals do for our community is incredible, and that’s why I’m so pleased that we’re able to help fund what they do for Camden,” she said.

“Whether it’s through charity, sport, events, social connection or artistic expression, all of the recipients contribute immensely to the community.

“Congratulations to all of our recipients and, most importantly, thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you do for our area.”
