Pedestrians and cyclists in Cawdor will have a new shared path to use in the future after Council accepted more than $1.19 million in funding from Transport for NSWs Get NSW Active Program.

The NSW Government program offers Councils across the state funding for pedestrian and bicycle planning facilities.

The funding will assist Council in constructing a shared path along Cawdor Rd, Cawdor between Sheathers Lane and Camden High School, and prepare a new addition of the Camden Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said the funding would go a long way to connecting paths in the Camden area.

“Council is committed to looking for opportunities to improve the Camden area’s infrastructure and it is fantastic to have secured this funding,” Cr Fedeli said.

“Setting up a shared path in Cawdor near Camden High School is a win for the entire community.

“I’d like to thank the NSW Government for the funding and look forward to the commencement of works in the future.”

The construction of the shared path along Cawdor Rd, Cawdor will be co-funded by Council, under its $113.8 million COVID Recovery Package.
