Have your say on how we communicate to you

Residents are invited to share their thoughts on how Council converses and interacts with the community.

The draft Communications and Community Engagement Strategy, which was endorsed for public exhibition at this week’s ordinary meeting, aims to continuously improve communications and to find the best ways to reach our community.

The draft strategy, which was developed after an extensive consultation process, commits to placing residents at the centre of Council’s functions and fostering strong and positive relationships for considered and effective decisions.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said the draft strategy provided clarity on how residents and stakeholders would participate in future decision making.

“Council is dedicated to being open and transparent with the community while aiming to inform locals with any information they need,” Cr Fedeli said.

“The draft strategy sets clear expectations, objectives and commitments on how Council will interact and work with the community and was put together after a consultation process with both online and in-person engagement opportunities over the last few months.

“This is about how we as Council will share information and details about the area, what is happening around you and how you can get involved.

“I encourage the entire Camden community to have their say during the draft strategy exhibition and look forward to hearing your thoughts.”

The draft strategy is a requirement of the Local Government Act 1993 and supports Council’s objectives of connection, inclusion and participation. The strategy will be on public exhibition for 28 days from 19 October 2022.
