Hire a portable drinking fountain or water bottle refill unit for your next community event

Council is offering local community groups the opportunity to hire a portable drinking fountain and/or a portable water bottle refill unit for their next community event.
Part funded through AGL’s Local Community Investment Program, these units are free to hire. Not only do they provide easy access to fresh drinking water for event patrons, but they also provide a fantastic environmental benefit to the community by helping minimise single use plastic drink bottles, therefore helping to protect our local wildlife and environment.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli said Council is committed to working towards a sustainable future for our community.
“Less than 20 per cent of plastic gets recycled in Australia, that’s why as an organisation we’re proud to have these units available for hire and to help reduce single use plastic drink bottles within our community,” Cr Fedeli said.
“These units are perfect for community groups and events such as school fetes, sporting days as well as Council and general community events. They provide a zero-cost, healthy hydration option to the community.
“Council has a network of drinking fountains and water bottle refill stations throughout the local government area located in parks, playgrounds and along walking and bike tracks. I encourage everyone to take a bottle from home and refill it at these locations when you run out.”
The units are durable, lightweight, easy to transport and easy to set up – all you need is a tap connected to fresh water. The units can be used individually or can be connected.
Council is committed to achieving our sustainability goals through the NSW Sustainable Advantage Program and creating a sustainable urban environment for our community to enjoy.
