Local young people are invited to get involved in Camden Council’s Youth Week festivities, which consist of a range of exciting initiatives, with something for everyone.
The national annual celebration will run from today (Monday 4 April) until Thursday 14 April and is all about giving Australians aged between 12 and 24 years an opportunity to share ideas, have their voices heard on issues that concern them, showcase their talents, celebrate their contributions and, above all, have fun.
Council’s Youth Week program, which focusses on the national theme of ‘it’s up to YOUth’, promises to have something for everyone to enjoy. The robust program includes:
- Youth Comedy Workshop;
- $5 Movie Deal at United Cinemas;
- Human Library;
- Self-care interactive workshop;
- Camden Careers Expo;
- Engaging Youth with Disability;
- Youth Week Post-it Activity;
- Old School Games Night;
- Wests Tigers Unite Active Life Youth Event;

- CDACC Youth Art Week;
- Workshop for teen artists: Overcoming Performance Anxiety;
- Virtual Reality Workshop;
- Arcade Night;

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli said the program was jam-packed, giving local young people ample opportunity to get involved.
“Camden has an incredible amount of young people who are full of creativity and imagination and who want to get involved,” Cr Fedeli said.
“Now is the time for our youth to express themselves and learn how to have their opinions heard in everyday life. I encourage everyone to attend the events in our Youth Week program and make the most of networking and meeting new people.
“Our youth are our future leaders, speakers and influencers, and Council is dedicated to nurturing them the best way possible.”
