Hilder Reserve in Elderslie will be the next park to receive an upgrade, after a draft masterplan for the site was endorsed by Council at its ordinary meeting this week.
The masterplan is set to improve the site’s capacity and user experience and will include:
- One seniors’ diamond and three juniors’ diamonds including fencing and dugouts for baseball participants;
- New sports amenities building including changerooms, clubroom, storage and kiosk;
- Upgrade of existing amenities;
- Improvement of existing car park and on-street parking;
- Improved floodlighting, seating and shade structure;
- Additional planting and landscape works;
- Improved accessibility including pathway and cycleway network; and
- A future playground.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said residents were the big winners after the draft masterplan was endorsed.
“It is fantastic to be able to assist key user groups and residents at all our parks, and I am excited about the Hilder Reserve Masterplan,” Cr Fedeli said.
“The reserve is home to a number of sporting codes and this Masterplan will not only assist them, but also maximise the capacity of the site, enhance accessibility and much more.
“I look forward to seeing the works completed at Hilder Reserve and our community enjoying this great facility.”
The delivery of the masterplan is proposed in three stages, with Stage One funded as part of
the Community Support Package to the value of $2.9 million.
- Stage One – The upper field and new amenities;
- Stage Two – The lower field and training facility; and
- Stage Three – The playground.
