Camden Councillors Therese Fedeli and Paul Farrow have been elected as Mayor and Deputy Mayor respectively at last night’s ordinary Council meeting.
Mayor Fedeli said being re-elected in the top job of Camden was an honour.
“It’s such a privilege to be leading and working with my fellow Councillors during such a key time in Camden’s history,” Mayor Fedeli said.
“The last two years have seen our community go through some truly difficult times, with the devastating bushfires, floods and of course COVID-19. But through tough times emerge tough people and I’m proud to say that’s what our community is – tough, resilient and hopeful.
“Camden is one of the fastest growing local government areas in the country, and I am dedicated to ensuring we continue to go from strength to strength.
“I have called Camden home for the past 29 years now and I truly believe this is one of the best places in the world. I am more focused than ever on continuing our work to provide the best services, infrastructure and facilities to support the wellbeing of our entire community.
“I want our residents, now and in the future, as well as the people that work here and visit Camden, to love living, working and playing here as much as I do.
“I’d also like to congratulate Cr Farrow on being elected Deputy Mayor and also thank my fellow councillors for the opportunity to re-serve as Mayor.
Deputy Mayor, Cr Farrow said he was excited to get to work as the Deputy Mayor of Camden.
“It is an absolute privilege to be elected as the Deputy Mayor of Camden,” Cr Farrow said.
“As a proud Councillor and local resident, I am committed and energised about continuing our good work and advocating on behalf of our residents to achieve only the best outcomes for our community.
“I look forward to working with Mayor Fedeli and my fellow Councillors during this term of Council to continue delivering a great range of initiatives, events and community projects for Camden and our residents.”
