‘Tis the season for a Camden Christmas

‘Tis the season to be jolly and Council is calling on the community to celebrate together with two exciting Christmas extravaganzas coming up.
The celebrations will kick-off with Camden Christmas Festival on Saturday 26 November, 4-9pm, to be held along Argyle Street in Camden. This event will include the annual lighting of the community Christmas tree, live music, market stalls, amusements and rides and a very special visit from Santa himself.
The festivities will continue with Oran Park Christmas Concert on Thursday 1 December, 5-9pm, at Oran Park Civic Centre on Central Avenue. This event will see the lighting of the Oran Park Christmas Tree as well as Christmas entertainment, markets and another visit from Saint Nick.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said it would be special to celebrate Christmas together once again after a three-year hiatus.
“Christmas is such a fantastic time of year and the perfect way to spread joy to your loved ones,” Cr Fedeli said.
“Camden has plenty to celebrate, and there is no better way than along Argyle Street and at Oran Park Civic Centre with special visits from Santa himself.
“I’ll be lighting the Christmas trees at each event, and I am also excited to have the Mayoral Christmas Card Competition winner with me who will be announced at the Camden Christmas Festival.
“We have been unlucky to not host these events for the last few years, so I encourage everyone to come down to either of the events for some fun as we get into the Christmas spirit.”
Both events are free.
