Work on the Camden area’s first synthetic football field, at Nott Oval in Narellan, is now complete.
In addition to constructing the new synthetic football field over the existing turf pitch, the Nott Oval project also saw Camden Council:
- Upgrade the existing parking facilities;
- Produce field marking, to accommodate winter and summer football competitions;
- Reserve bench booths; and
- Complete landscaping, fencing and footpath works.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said she looked forward to officially opening the facility, located at the corner of Elyard Street and Richardson Road in Narellan, next month.
"Council is committed to providing our residents with the highest quality sport and recreation facilities,” Cr Fedeli said.
“This will be another fantastic facility to be enjoyed by both a range of local football clubs and the wider community.
"With a growing demand for football in our area, and of course our new A-League club Macarthur FC kicking off in this year, this project was very exciting for us. I am thrilled to see it complete and looking terrific.
“Having this facility up and running during what has been such an unsettling and uncertain time is really fantastic – not only for morale but also to help support the local economy.
"I would like to thank both the Federal and State Governments for their funding of $2.8 million to go towards this facility, as part of the Western Parkland Liveability Fund.”
