Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, is reminding residents it is easy to protect themselves and their loves ones by downloading the Get Prepared app.
As part of Emergency Preparedness Week, residents are being encouraged to download the FREE Get Prepared app and create their own emergency plan.
Get Prepared is a free and easy to use, one-stop tool to help residents prepare for any type of emergency, including:
- Establishing a quick and easy network of support with your three key contacts;
- Reviewing the risks relevant to where you live;
- Creating checklists of actions to make an emergency plan; and
- Saving the emergency plan as a PDF to be printed and shared with others.
“Emergencies can strike at anytime, anywhere and without warning and the last few years has confirmed that being prepared getting ready for emergencies is important for communities to strengthen our ability to survive, adapt and thrive,” Cr Fedeli said.
“The Get Prepared app helps you locate local emergency services contacts, create your list of key contacts, identify a safe meeting place and create checklists of what to pack and much more.
“I encourage the community to download the app, create an emergency plan and be as best prepared as possible.”
Emergency Preparedness Week runs from today (Monday 19 September) until Sunday 25 September 2022 and is run by Red Cross Australia.
